Allow me to introduce myself... Hi, I'm Mel!

Kinesiologist, Ayurvedic Wellness Counsellor, Meditation Teacher and your guide in nervous system regulation.

Program Outline

 Embodied Ayurveda is broken down into 4 core  components to support your nervous system on every level.

Phase 1: Mind-Body Awareness & Alignment

Students will learn:

  •  An in depth understanding of the foundations of Ayurveda, their Dosha, and how to create & embody practices and rituals to align with their mind-body state.
  •  A deep understanding of the nervous system, Polyvagal theory, the Vagus nerve, how they function & relate to Ayurveda.
  • The foundational principles for how to create balance and move toward safety within the nervous system anytime, anywhere.

Phase 2: Optimising the physical body

Students will learn:

  •  A thorough understanding of how to apply Ayurvedic nutrition principles into their life *without* changing their entire diet drastically.
  •  How to eat to nourish their nervous system, balance the Doshas and according to the seasons. (Note: Our entire Eat For Your Dosha program is included in EA)
  •  How to modify pranayama, movement and somatic practices to shift or align with their doshic/nervous system state.
  •  How posture impacts the nervous system, and simple practices to rebalance.

Phase 3: Optimizing + Mastering the mind  

Students will learn:

  •  How to support their mind and “mental digestion” with Ayurvedic practices, and how this impacts the nervous system.
  •  Understand the foundations of meditation and mindfulness from a Yogic/Ayurvedic lens, and how to modify these practices based on doshic/nervous system state.
  •  The Ayurvedic and Yogic psychology of habit change, and how to re-wire your mind & nervous system.

Phase 4: Embodying + Applying Subtle healing practices

Students will learn:

  •  How to use subtle healing methods such as gemstones, aromatherapy and mantra to support and balance the nervous system and Doshas.

 Phase 5 BONUS: Discovering and Embodying your Dharma

Meet your Mentor and Guide

A little more about my story 

Listen, I’ve been in the wellness industry for over a DECADE and worked with hundreds of clients *impressive whistle*

And I rode the struggle bus in my early and mid twenties with extreme burn out, stress and anxiety that became amplified after I sustained several concussions in my rugby career.

This left me with (what I now know to be) a hella dysregulated nervous system, and inability to cope with all the stresses that life was throwing at me.

This healing process took me down a deeply spiritual path.. and over many years I studied and practiced different techniques and methods individually and tried to put it together on my own:

  • I became a meditation teacher (and now teacher trainer)
  • I became a certified culinary nutritionist incorporating the food piece
  • I was already a personal trainer and kinesiologist so I knew the connection of movement with stress, energy and health..
  • And I knew there was a deeper spiritual component..  but I didn’t really know where to start.. or what to so.. So I started reading ALL THE BOOKS books on spirituality, and the Chakras, using sage and essential oils because I heard that was good..

But everything felt RANDOM, and truly, nothing worked on it's own.

It wasn’t until I learned about Ayurveda that lightbulbs, and sparkles and a parade of dancing unicorns went off in my mind..

And as I learned, and as I went deeper, and REEEALLY learned about Ayurveda I was like OMG.. it’s all here.

Literally, everything I needed, and KNEW intuitively that was going to help me.. Was there. In one system. That made total, and complete sense.

Here was this holistic system of SELF healing, this highly organized, scientific but spiritual system that helped me to understand WHY I was feeling how I was feeling and how all these symptoms were totally connected, and gave me a precise method, and tools for healing that made total sense, and actually worked.

So relatively quickly, as I began to implement this stuff, things changed. 

The fog lifted...

My energy and vitality came back...

And I finally felt like myself again.

As a result, I started to feel this deeper connection to my practice and my teaching. I started to see how this wisdom could be applied literally anywhere and it changed the way I did my own practice, and taught meditation, and my nutrition clients.

I have witnessed deep transformation within myself, AND my students from around the world, and it is my honour to be able to teach this to you.
