About Us

Yogi Fuel was founded as a way to bridge the gap between the practice we do on our mats, and the practices that are essential for not only our health and well-being, but deeper spiritual understanding.

We believe that when practiced together, Yoga and Ayurveda create a complete system of physical, mental and spiritual wellness.

We strive to provide the best possible education, counselling and support for Yogis and Yoga teachers to deepen their understanding of these wisdom body’s, and to support them in making real, lasting changes in the way they live their life.

Yoga and Ayurveda are practices; meaning there is only so much one can learn from reading a book, or even taking an online course. This is why our courses focus on transformative learning, or learning through experience. Each one of our programs requires the student to take on new habits, practices and shifts in their life.

Yogi Fuel is for those students and teachers looking to take control over their anxiety, and level up their health, practice and consciousness through consistent Yogic and Ayurvedic practices.

MEET THE TEAM

Mel Singh, Founder and Director

First and foremost, Mel is a Mama. She is also an Ayurvedic Counsellor, Meditation teacher, and the founder of Yogi Fuel.

Her journey and interested in meditation, and Yogic wisdom began in 2013 when a concussion during a rugby game rocked her world, and left her with seemingly uncontrollable anxiety.

Mel felt drawn to meditation, and Eastern philosophy as a means of personal healing, but after feeling the profound impact of these teachings, she felt called to become a teacher + practitioner herself.

Since then, she has gone on to teach, guide and counsel people using Ayurveda, mindfulness based stress reduction, in addition to exploring more Vedic and Yogic meditation techniques. She is also a Certified Ayurvedic Counsellor, with a specialization in nutrition and meditation with the American Institute of Vedic Studies and is a direct student of Dr. David Frawley. Her teaching and guidance are heavily influenced by his spiritual, and holistic application of Yoga and Ayurveda, and she incorporates the broader context of Vedic wisdom into her teaching.

In addition to her continued studies with Dr. Frawley, Mel has studied with various teachers of Yoga and Ayurveda such as Dr. Robert Svoboda, R. Sharath Jois, Eddie Stern, and David Robson to name a few.
